Welcome to My Story

Categories Surrender All

On February 11, 2018, after a long battle with cancer, my husband Mike won the final fight and left us to continue eternity in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Although watching Mike slowly succumb to the effects of the cancer, holding his hand as he took his final breath, and carrying on without him in our lives has been a dark, difficult journey, I can testify that God has faithfully carried me through every moment. He has shown me that He understands my suffering and pain and that He has plans to use it for His glory.

When we received the news that the cancer had become untreatable, Mike and I talked about the fact that God was not surprised by this and that our purpose–to live our lives fully surrendered to His plan and to bring Him glory–had not changed. The timing was different than what we had imagined, but our purpose remained.

Although Mike fulfilled the purpose God had for him here on earth, I am still here, and with the power of the Holy Spirit, I am striving to continue to live that purpose. This website is one way I feel called to do that.  So, welcome to jenniferbratton.com! This website bears my name but my prayer is that when you visit you will see Jesus.

The Christian life is one of total surrender. We must die to self, to our plans, our will, our sin, our futures. And in that death, we become fully alive. It is not easy. Jesus told us it wouldn’t be easy. But it is beautiful. Although I am a writer, I could never put into words what it is to be loved unconditionally and perfectly; loved infinitely by the very One who defines love. But I will do my best here to share the words that God puts in my heart, to share with all of you what I have learned and am learning to be true as I Surrender All.

I would love to hear from you! Please comment or send me a message and let me know you are here!
